European leaders are discussing the EU Strategic Agenda 2024-2029. The agenda will set the future political priorities of the EU.

While the previous agenda (2019-2024) stated “building a climate-neutral, green, fair and social Europe” as a priority, in the current state of discussions, social and health priorities do not seem to have the same traction as they had in the past.

Yet, keeping social and health ambitions high is a prerequisite to achieving a “strong, dynamic, competitive and cohesive Europe”.

20 health and social organisations are sending a strong message:

“As signatories to this letter representing social and health stakeholders in the EU, we urge the Council of the European Union and Member States to ensure that the EU Strategic Agenda 2024–2029 keeps social and health ambitions high, as a prerequisite to achieving a “strong, dynamic, competitive and cohesive Europe”.
