AIM (International Association of health care mutuals and health care funds), CPME (Standing Committee of European Doctors), ESIP (European Social Insurance Platform) and HOPE (European Hospital and Healthcare Federation) sent a joint letter to the European Commission concerning the Covid19 pandemic. The document welcomes the Commission’s efforts and measures taken to get out of the crisis as well as the committment of healthcare professionals, welcoming the European Commission’s intentions to overview stocks of essential protective clothing for those frontline healthcare workers. The organisations also underline the need for structured discussion with the healthcare community once the crisis has passed in order to discuss issues such as medicines shortages or investments in research and development, and to ensure a better response for future similar crises.
