Special Briefing on AIM’s 2024 General Assembly
AIM held its 48th General Assembly on 13th and 14th November 2024 in Brussels, hosted by Mutualité Chrétienne. This assembly addressed pressing global challenges affecting health and social care systems, including the climate crisis, political upheavals, and ongoing conflicts such as the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East. AIM members reaffirmed their commitment to providing accessible, affordable, and sustainable health and social care, grounded in core values of solidarity, democracy, and not-for-profit principles.
Looking ahead, AIM is preparing for a new office relocation, an international conference in Burundi, and the celebration of its 75th anniversary in 2025, designating the year as the Year of Solidarity. Additionally, 2024 marked the onset of significant political changes in Europe, with the establishment of a new European Parliament and European Commission, setting the stage for continued advocacy and engagement.
